Spyder's worldwide headquarters are located in Boulder,
Colorado, nestled against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
At an altitude of 5,400 feet, Boulder is an ideal location for product
design and testing. The company is less than 30 minutes from skiing,
while world-class climbing, hiking, and kayaking are in their own
backyard!
Spyder founder and President David Jacobs was Canadian
National Downhill Champion and former coach of the Canadian National
team. He began designing and producing skiwear by hand in his Boulder
kitchen in the late 1970's. He was also active in the design and
manufacturing of the first Lange competition ski boot. His first
clothes were designed for his own children, and have evolved into
what is now Spyder Active Sports, Inc.
CHB's interest in Spyder was sold in 2004.
